Lower KS2 Workshop

Tech Tunes

Get ready for a hands-on journey into gamification and music technology as pupils create their own digital instruments! We start with free play and call-and-response melodies, then introduce crocodile clips, graphic notation, and backing tracks. Pupils explore body conductivity—making music by touching fingers, ears, and noses—before building a custom instrument from rulers and tin foil, playing it in a fun, guitar-hero style. This workshop brings together creativity, science, and music to spark engagement in every learner.

Pupils will explore songwriting, singing, pentatonic scales, call and response, and chord structures, linking directly to the Music curriculum. In Science, they investigate electricity, conductors, insulators, and sound. Mathematics is embedded through activities involving duration, equivalence, two-step problems, and unit conversions. The Computing element includes design, debugging, logical reasoning, using search technologies, and promoting the safe, purposeful use of digital tools.
