D Yui Shikakura
Project Manager | Workshop Leader | Early Years Specialist
Yui is a dynamic music educator, performer, and researcher who integrates digital innovation to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences—from early childhood to MA students, and even the elderly. She holds a PhD in Music Education and is a trained performer of traditional Japanese instruments, especially the shamisen. Her work spans classrooms, concert halls, and virtual platforms around the world.
As Project Manager at Conductive Music, Yui designs and leads pioneering STEAM programmes that empower thousands of young people—particularly those from marginalised communities—to explore music through technology.
At Lingnan University (Hong Kong), she serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Music Unit and teaches both BA and MA courses across the Music and History Departments. Her MA teaching includes Digital Humanities, GIS, and 3D Modelling, while her BA courses focus on Cultural Sustainability and Creative AI—equipping students with essential digital skills and fostering cross-cultural awareness.
