Description

Embark with us for two great days of interactive online sessions: we’ll use spooky urban legends of monstrous pigs and septic rivers under the City, to show you how story, coding, pixel art and music can make amazing arcade games. Then we’ll help you combine those ingredients together to create your own cool videogame quest!

By the end of the hackathon, you will have created an epic new musical platformer, and you’ll take away all the skills and (free) software you need to make more!

What you need: Laptop/tablet, ideally with external screen connection (TVs are fine!), Headphones, Zoom app and Chrome browser

All software is FREE and browser-based (no installations required)

To be available on 20th and 21st Dec to follow the lessons

What you will learn: Dream up a fantastic ‘sewer-crawl’ quest, and shape it into the perfect videogame plot, with Laura Sampson, a professional storyteller. Create a great game setting and characters with Dr. Yui Shikakura, pixel art wizard and Japanese performance expert. Code your game to life and build spooky soundtracks with chief coder and music maestro Dr Enrico Bertelli. Bring this all together in your very own musical platformer.

PRIZES and Certification! Win: Voucher worth £19.99 on Udemy for one of our on-demand Storytelling, Pixel Art, Music and Coding courses.

Achieve: Your very first Conductive Music Hackathon Certificate.
