Dr. Robert Jack

Robert Jack is a musician, instrument designer and researcher. Currently a doctoral candidate at Queen Mary University of London’s Augmented Instruments Lab, his research focuses on tangible experiences of music and on the creation of new musical instruments using new technologies. A graduate of University of Glasgow in Applied Mathematics and Music and of Goldsmiths College, where he completed a masters in composition, his work has been inherently interdisciplinary for many years. Robert has worked extensively as a composer and as a sound artist, and has expertise in sound design, creating work for theatre, film and dance. He has experience in teaching music technology at both school and university level and a passion for new manufacturing techniques, such as laser cutting and 3D printing. He has been working with Conductive Music since 2015 both as a teacher and as a hardware/software developer of STEAM workshops.
